"The Re-Up"
|
 |
| |
 |
Get ready for a takeover of God’s power! Our Youth & Young Adult Ministry empowers young people with core Christian principles – principles that serve as the foundation for youth to influence their culture for Christ. |
Held in The Living Room, the exciting "Re-Up" services enlist the creative and fine arts arm of the Youth & Young Adults Department, and features dancers, rappers, dramatic skits, singing, DJ’s, and the spoken word.
No matter what area of ministry we are involved in with the youth, we believe that young people are very precious and dear to the heart of God. In some ways, they are like precious ripe fruit. With proper nourishment and care, they will grow and not only lead purposed and effective lives, but also influence and shape future generations for Christ. We believe there are recurring challenges facing youth that need to be addressed, but we believe even more that God’s Word provides the answers to those particular challenges, and that it helps teens understand and discover God’s specific purpose/mission for their lives.

The Rites of Passage Ministry is a Christian faith, biblically-based program designed to develop boys into mature productive men by illustrating the growth qualities needed for manhood. This program partners boys and young men with mature men to edify and encourage spiritual, educational, vocational, physical, and social growth.
Boys 11 to 14 years of age are eligible to participate. This program places special emphasis on children from single-parent homes, boys who are at risk of alcohol, drug addiction, or premarital sexual activity. We are also concerned about those who are at risk of entering the juvenile justice system or who are in danger of gang involvement.

College Conquerors
|
 |
| |
|
Faithful Central Bible Church addresses the needs of the college-bound student through College Conquerors. This ministry was created to empower the high school senior or the adult returning to pursue his/her education, as well as our community. To serve as a resource to make well-informed college choices and to conquer, not simply survive college.
We take our outreach to these young people as a God-given assignment that includes …
- Providing information sessions for parents and students several times during the year on topics including, but not limited to, preparing for college, admissions, and financial aid.
- Providing individual college counseling for students during their junior and senior years.
- Making sure that students’ college lists include colleges and universities with a track record for supporting students of color academically, financially, and socially.
- Assisting students and parents in lobbying for revised financial aid packages from the colleges and universities to which they are admitted.
- Conducting a workshop for students during the summer before their freshmen year of college about academic,
social, and financial challenges that they may face.
- Conducting academic workshops with an emphasis on written and oral communication, history, math, and the sciences. Conduct SAT/PSAT workshops. The goal is to ensure that our students are just as prepared for college
as students from other communities.
